here's what you'll need to get the perfect fit every time:
- A measuring tape that will fit around the circumference of your body
- Thin undergarments or fitted clothing to ensure proper results
- A mirror or a friend to help you measure correctly
- A pen and paper to jot down your measurements
Bust: Place the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust making sure you feel a snug fit. It should not be too tight (visible indentation) or too loose (measuring tape falls below target area). Record Waist: Secure the measuring tape around the natural waist or curves of your waistline. Record results. Hips: Standing with back straight and feet together, bring the measuring tape around the fullest part of the hips and rear end. Record results. Upper Thigh: With your feet about hip width apart, place the measuring tape around the fullest part of your upper thigh. Record results. This measurement is especially beneficial for skinny jeans or fitted pants. Inseam: Again assuming the position of upper thigh measurement, place tip of measuring tape from the highest point of inner thigh or the crotch area downwards along the length on your leg. Body Length: Standing straight with feet together, place measuring tape from top of shoulder to heel (this is easier if you have a friend help you). Front Rise: Standing straight secure the measuring tape from crotch area upwards towards waistline. It is helpful to know the measurement of the pants first before measuring yourself.
